Planting and protecting native and wild trees to regenerate barren landscapes is one of the main activities of Trees for Hope.
Planting trees in memory of, or in honour of someone or something is an age-old deed across numerous cultures. A grove of trees self-regenerates. If planted well and cared for in the early years, it becomes habitat for birds, insects, worms, mushrooms, slime molds, even bigger mammals and reptiles. In other words, life returns to the land where it has previously been razed down. We are working to revive the Atlantic Rainforest in Moidart. By sponsoring a grove of trees, you not only enable us to do our work, you co-create a habitat in memory of someone you care about, or you plant an intention for a project you want to grow. Growing a habitat takes time. In time an ineffable connection grows between you and the grove you sponsored. One day, you, or your offspring, or your relatives, may walk through a maturing forest in the West Coast of Scotland, hearing a faint voice rising from the ground, whispering, thank you, thank you, thank you for the gift of life.
